The Arcane Circle is an institute born from a collective desire to rediscover the secrets of our past, protect the relics of antiquity, study those same relics, and expand our knowledge for the betterment of Eorzea’s future.

Relics are housed in the Circle’s well-guarded, warded vaults, and are acquired by various means (some more ambiguous than others.) Though not all of the curios are dangerous, most are important some manner, or even priceless. As such, there is a posting of guards and mercenaries known colloquially as ‘the Wardens.’ Paid for their efforts, they protect the academics of the Circle, and the precious treasures that the manor itself holds.

While on the surface they will always follow the laws of the land, in regards to magic that would otherwise be regarded as illegal, its an ideal place for more discerning magi to study their arts in relative peace. While such activities are never openly condoned by the leadership, and any investigation by local governing bodies, or Grand Companies would find the Circle cooperative, that such things may occur is somewhat understood.

The Collegia Arcanum is the manor in which the Circle operates, and is located on the isle of Vylbrand. Housing the scholars of the Circle, it is an ancient and labyrinthian place, almost as much a mystery as what is studied within. Under the watchful eye of its current deed-holder, the Headmistress Janelle de Colbernoux, scholars from across Hydaelyn come to share their knowledge, and expand it through the Circle’s resources.

The Arcane Circle is an Med/Heavy RP FC focusing on the the academic and clandestine sides of magic in Eorzea. We host regular ongoing storylines for the FC as a whole, as well as offer the chance for members to explore their own ideas and characters by running personal events. We use a light rules system to augment random rolls that allows for more specialization in character talents, and lets each character shine in their own way.

We host weekly rp events both combat-focused and social-focussed for fc members and affiliates, as well as running the occasional server-wide event… in the past, we’ve held Grand Formal Galas with lots of socializing as well as a Grand Magus Tournament focused on giving mages on the server a chance to shine in battle. We encourage events of all kinds between our officers and members!

We're laid-back content wise, occasionally hosting map runs or content nights (bird farming, completing past 8-man raids, Eureka, etc.). We also routinely offer movie nights and other gaming groups in our discord, for out-of-FFXIV bonding! Members are also encouraged to enjoy Crystal public events together, and experience all the RP scene has to offer.

Aside from the FC, we also offer linkshell membership for those who are unable to part from their current companies, and welcome affiliate ties with other groups who share a mutual love of the arcane!
